On Monday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., the ANCSA Regional Association will offer an introductory training on the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act to the University of Alaska community. The session is on Zoom, free to UA, and open to everyone.
Nicole Borromeo, JD, President of the ANCSA Regional Association, will lead the training, covering ANCSA itself, Alaska Native corporations, and the broader set of Alaska Native entities that serve communities across the state. ANCSA shaped land, governance, and economic life in Alaska in ways that reach into much of what the university does, from who our students are to which entities we partner with. Questions are welcome throughout.
Register at alaska.edu/ansi/ancsa-training. Registration closes Friday, Sept. 18 at Noon. The session will be recorded, so register even if you can't attend live and the recording will be sent to you.
The training is coordinated by the Alaska Native Success Initiative.
