Okta integrates with Anthropic to help secure identities within Claude environments

SAN FRANCISCO - May 21, 2026 - Okta, Inc. (NASDAQ: OKTA), the leading independent identity provider, today announced a new integration between Okta Identity Security Posture Management (ISPM) and the Claude Compliance API, providing security and compliance teams with visibility into identity risks and misconfigurations associated with Anthropic's Claude Enterprise and Claude Platform. Okta will contextualize Claude user activity with signals from other identity platforms, SaaS tools, and cloud providers to surface identity blind spots. This helps ensure Claude usage aligns with broader security and compliance standards while allowing customers to continuously assess identity risk posture, remediate issues based on risk severity, and securely deploy AI at scale.

"Identity is the only control plane that matters when a single compromised identity can open the door to an entire AI ecosystem," Ric Smith, President of Products & Technology, Okta. "By integrating Okta Identity Security Posture Management with the Claude Compliance API, organizations can now secure the identities of their Claude users just like with any other SaaS product. Security teams now have centralized visibility into every identity interacting with Claude, and with Okta's agentic solutions, they can have governance over every AI agent they deploy."

Comprehensive visibility into Claude with Okta ISPM

A compromised AI system can have a greater impact than a typical SaaS breach, as they often have broad access to sensitive data, code, workflows, and connected tools across an organization. Security and IT teams need oversight into who is actively using Claude and holds admin permissions, which admin API keys exist, and whether any highly privileged admin keys aren't being used or haven't been rotated regularly.

Through this integration between ISPM and the Claude Compliance API, teams can identify and address:

  • Admin API key visibility: Gain visibility into API key usage. ISPM will flag admin keys that aren't being used or haven't been rotated for an extended period of time.

  • Offboarding risks: Verify that former employees no longer have access to corporate Anthropic workspace, with ISPM quickly flagging active accounts belonging to offboarded employees.

  • Privilege escalation: Restrict admin permissions to Claude and other Anthropic products to help ensure the zero-standing privilege is enforced across an organization's AI stack.

  • Dormant and unused accounts: Discover regular and admin accounts that are provisioned but no longer in use, allowing organizations to reclaim licenses and reduce their attack surface.

This offering will soon be available in beta to select customers using Okta Identity Security Posture Management alongside either Anthropic's Claude Enterprise or Claude Platform. To get started, customers can contact their Okta representative.
