Reliable, Sustainable, & Safe, these are the characteristics of the products East Penn Manufacturing provide to their customers on a daily basis. Of course, that includes the battery offerings provided through the Reserve Power division. These batteries are used in mission-critical & high-pressure applications such as datacenters and communications to ensure there is no downtime in services.
Sustainability is at the forefront when Deka batteries are manufactured. The recycling and sustainability of lead batteries is a success story. Virtually 100% of a lead battery's three basic components - lead, plastic, and acid - are recyclable. Today, lead batteries are the most recycled consumer product in the U.S.A. Not only are they recyclable, but also sustainable, meaning the components are of great value. It is economically profitable to recycle them for use in new batteries.
Combine that with a 3rd party lab tested and proven certification for UL1973, and you have the full package in every Deka Reserve Power battery. Certification to UL1973 streamlines qualification for system integrators, meaning that Deka batteries can be safely installed closer together to help space saving needs, 5x more than non-certified product, you have the advantage to make your system fit in close dimensions compared to non-certified products. Additionally, you do not have group size restrictions, (50kWh), with listed UL1973 VRLA product.
East Penn has been proud to have these sustainability goals and actions for its nearly 80 years of manufacturing. This new addition of UL1973 certification (making them the first company with lead battery manufacturing in the U.S.A. to be certified to this safety standard for its entire line of products) is a proven testament to the experience and quality that Deka batteries have been made with since 1946.
