DALLAS - The brothers at Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy at A. Maceo Smith are helping classmates find their voice and learn the power of listening through a student-run podcast. Led in part by seniors Andrew L. and Jonathan G., the podcast gives students a platform to celebrate diverse perspectives. What started as an extension of the yearbook class has grown into a space that helps others build confidence, communication, and community one episode at a time.

VISUALS: North Dallas High School teacher recognized for outstanding dedication
North Dallas High School celebrated Coach Brittney Peace today as she was honored with the Inspirational Teacher Award. Presented by Dave Campbell's Texas Football and Hattie B's Hot Chicken, the award recognizes educators across Texas who go above and beyond to inspire their students and school communities. In appreciation of her dedication to her students and athletes, Hattie B's donated $500 to North Dallas High School in her name.

Construction services meeting tonight
Construction Services/Bond Office is hosting a bond community meeting at 5:30 p.m., tonight, Oct. 8, at Obadiah Knight Elementary School. The meeting is open to the public and community members are invited to give input and hear updates about future projects at the campus.

Dallas ISD fall break
Students will be on fall break and campuses will be closed Thursday, Oct. 9 and Friday, Oct. 10. Campuses will reopen on Monday, Oct.13 for teachers, and students return on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
