GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Purpose. This MARADMIN announces the immediate
cancellation of reference (a), the Fiscal Year 2026 Selected Marine
Corps Reserve (SMCR) Retention and Affiliation Bonus (RAB) Program,
effective upon release of this message.
2. Background. To align with updated force requirements, MOS
inventory targets, and strategic retention goals, Reserve Affairs
(RA) will publish a new MARADMIN outlining the updated eligibility
criteria, base bonus amounts, and execution guidelines.
3. Action.
3.a. Reference (a) is officially canceled effective immediately. No
new Statements of Understanding (SOU) will be generated, routed, or
approved under the authority of reference (a) after the release time
of this message.
3.b. Marines who have an approved SOU generated by the Total Force
Retention System (TFRS) prior to the release of this MARADMIN, and
who subsequently meet all requirements per reference (a), remain
fully eligible for the incentive under the original terms and are
unaffected by this immediate cancellation.
3.c. Commanders, Career Counselors, and Prior Service Recruiters
must ensure all Marines currently in the routing process are informed
of this immediate cancellation and the forthcoming program update to
manage expectations and transition to the updated program.
4. Applicability. This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps
Total Force.
