WASHINGTON-October 24, 2025-The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) today released the following statement from SIA Vice President of Government Affairs David Isaacs on the American AI Exports Program and the recently released Request for Information (RFI) seeking input from stakeholders. Semiconductors are the backbone of AI, and this program represents a critical opportunity to strengthen American technology leadership.
"We applaud the Department of Commerce for taking this important first step in advancing the American AI Exports Program and are encouraged by the Trump Administration's focus on promoting the American AI stack at home and abroad. Semiconductors are the foundation of AI, as AI data centers and AI-enabled products are powered by the full range of chip technology. The RFI announced this week will allow the Administration to gather information needed to help ensure the American AI Exports Program strengthens U.S. economic competitiveness, enhances national security, and delivers American technology leadership for many years to come.
"We look forward to continuing to work with the Administration to ensure that global AI adoption is built on American semiconductor technology."
