UPCOMING REFERENDUM FOR LOCAL HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION
In November 2025, Augusta-Richmond County residents have the opportunity to vote on a new property tax exemption. The proposed exemption would limit how much the assessed value of a homestead property can increase each year. If passed, it would cap increases at 3.2 percent per year, unless there are substantial changes to the property. This exemption would apply to homestead properties only.
The referendum on this exemption will take place on November 4, 2025. If approved, the new exemption would take effect on January 1, 2026.
