User-facing features in this release:
We're excited to announce a major update to Everlaw AI Assistant: individual Everlaw AI Assistant actions are now available at no additional cost. This change makes it easier for you and your team to use Everlaw's generative AI features as part of your everyday work. With single document Review Assistant actions and Writing Assistant now available at no additional cost, you can experience their value directly within Everlaw's secure, unified platform - without relying on other third-party AI tools.
This significant expansion of feature availability comes without any change to your existing billing structure - there is no increase in cost to your per gigabyte rate. Batch AI actions will continue to use credits.
We've also introduced the following in-platform updates to improve your Everlaw AI experience:
Important
This update does not negatively impact any unused credits that you have already purchased. We encourage you to use those credits for batch actions.
For more information, visit Manage and Track Everlaw AI Credit and Feature Use.
The base rate for coding suggestions is being reduced. To learn more, contact your Everlaw Customer Success Manager.
Organization Admins and Legal Hold Organization Admins can now opt into consolidating legal hold notifications for custodians associated with multiple hold notices.
Consolidated email notifications drastically reduce email volume for custodians associated with large numbers of legal holds. They can also simplify your custodian's workflow by putting all requests in one space. This helps them keep track of what deliverables are needed and reduces the likelihood of them overlooking reminders.
This setting is called Consolidate automatic email reminders to all custodians in this organization with issued hold notices.
To learn more, visit Consolidate automatic legal hold reminders.
Legal hold fields now consistently use sentence case. We also enhanced CSV export results for both filtered legal hold exports and custodian summary reports.
For filtered legal hold exports:
For custodian summary report exports:
Users can now edit existing legal hold notices without having to resend the notice to all custodians. Instead, they are given the option to select either Do not send now or Send edited hold notice emails. These options appear as an additional step in the hold notice update wizard.
Database Admins can now independently rename their database, and subsequently its default project. Previously, this action required Organization Admin permissions or assistance from Everlaw Support.
To rename a database and its default project, open the databases Overview page and select the database's rename button, located next to the project name.
To learn more, visit Database Administration and Permissions.
There is now a 100,000 term limit when you import terms into a Search Term Report (STR) on Everlaw. The limit applies to both TXT and CSV imports, and was imposed to limit errors when importing very large STRs.
If you try to import more than 100,000 terms (rows), you will encounter the error message "Too many search terms. Import a file with no more than 100,000 search terms."
We have made some improvements to the Document Set column available on the results table.
The improvements are:
These improvements make it easier to identify the source of a document (native upload, processed upload, or production) and to filter down to just the document set(s) you are interested in.
Sometimes users need to replace the text files of documents they have already uploaded. This could be because the OCR isn't accurate, because there is irrelevant text that is interfering with the search results, or for any number of other reasons.
Organizations using Everlaw's API can now use it to replace a document's text file. This gives your organization the flexibility to automate workflows for replacing document text.
To learn more, visit Organization Admin: Everlaw API.
All the deduplication settings selected in Project Settings > General now copy over when a project is used as a template. Previously, the selection for the Choose types of duplicates to group setting did not copy with a template.
To learn more about duplicate settings, visit Administer Project Deduplication Settings.
To learn more about project templating, visit Projects.
Users can now generate up to 75 custom extraction fields at one time, both from the review window and the result table's batch action menu. This is a significant increase from the previous limit of 5 extractions per generation.
We have increased the file size limit of spreadsheets on which most dependent redactions will work. The new size limit is 90 MB. Previously, a spreadsheet had to be smaller than 60MB for dependent redactions to work.
To learn more, visit Redact a Spreadsheet.
The size of data involved in uploads, promotions, and deletions for Staging Drive is now tracked in Staging Drive analytics events. This adds transparency and traceability for tracking historical Staging Drive activity.
There is a new setting to allow Organization Admins and Database Admins to delete documents without temporary backups. This option should be used with caution, and only when you are required to immediately delete documents in all locations. The deletion process mirrors that of the Purge all backups immediately to adhere to court order option when deleting a database.
To learn more, visit Deleting Documents.
The File Path visualization in Data Visualizer and the File path explorer view (attachment view) in the context panel of the review window now use natural sorting for folders/files. This new sort logic better aligns with user expectations for how their folder structure should sort, especially for folders that have been numbered.
In the examples below, Folder 11 previously sorted after Folder 1, and before Folder 2. In the upcoming release, the folders sort in the numeric order.

Beta
Deep Dive is a Beta feature. Please email [email protected] with any questions or issues related to this tool.
We have improved the rendering of responses to questions asked in Deep Dive. Response formatting now supports basic formatting such as bulleted lists, numbered lists, or tables, when they appear as part of Deep Dive's response. Previously, all responses were presented in paragraph form.
We added a new keyboard shortcut (Shift + t) to activate and deactivate the text selection tool in the review window. Using this keyboard shortcut is the same as manually selecting the text selector tool button.
This shortcut was added to reduce the number of mouse clicks needed to apply redactions or highlights to text.
To use the shortcut, hit Shift + t on your keyboard. Then select the text you want to take action on.
To look up other keyboard shortcuts in Everlaw, hit Shift + ? on your keyboard.
During native upload, some files are ignored, which means they are not uploaded into the database. Ignored files contain no reviewable information and include Windows shortcuts, __MACOSX/** stat files, and Thumbs.db. This is a separate category than files that get deduplicated or DeNISTed. With this release, the number and size of ignored files are listed in the native upload processing report along with deduplicated and DeNISTed files.
To get more specific information about the ignored files, including file names, download a report by selecting Download ignored info.
To learn more, visit Manage Native Uploads.
Pages with sub-tabs now have a caret button that shows when a sub-tab is expanded or collapsed. As an example, here is the before and after for the Productions page:
