Notice of Land Quality Division Advisory Board Meeting - December 17, 2025, 10:00 am (MST)
Public Notice: Land Quality Division Advisory Board Meeting - December 17, 2025The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Land Quality Division (LQD), will hold an Advisory Board (AB) Meeting beginning at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. The meeting will be held via video conference call. The major items of discussion will be the presentation and continued scoping of new Noncoal Chapter 14 - Blasting for Noncoal Surface Mining Operations, and related revisions to Noncoal Chapters 2, 9, and 10. The proposed revisions were drafted in response to a 2024 House Bill 0033 which granted DEQ the authority to draft rules for the regulation of the use of explosives at noncoal surface mining operations. Chapter 14 has been further revised based on comments received during the September 18, 2025, Advisory Board meeting. The LQD will be seeking input and comments on the draft rules from the Board and interested parties during this meeting. The proposed rules may be downloaded at https://deq.wyoming.gov/land-quality/proposed-rules-and-regulations/. Comments on the proposed rules may be sent to Land Quality Division, 200 W. 17th Street, Suite 10, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82002, or by using the electronic comment portal at https://lq.wyomingdeq.commentinput.com/.
