The Central Bank of Barbados is seeking to fill a temporary post of Digital Communications Officer, Office of the Governor.

Job Summary

To capture, produce, and deliver high-quality, compelling digital content in real time across platforms and time zones, with a strong focus on short-form video, in support of the Governor's public communications, strategic messaging, digital presence, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities include:

  • Capturing high quality video and visual content during the Governor's engagements, both locally and internationally
  • Editing and producing short form video content, including reels, highlights, and recap clips, for immediate and post event use
  • Managing the Governor's digital content pipeline, ensuring timely production and release of high impact content
  • Drafting supporting captions and short written content aligned with the Governor's voice
  • Managing the Governor's social media presence, with particular emphasis on platforms driven by video content
  • Travelling with the Governor to provide real time digital coverage, including filming, editing, and publishing content on site
  • Contributing to the Bank's institutional social media channels, in coordination with the Communications Unit
  • Supporting alignment of the Governor's content with the Bank's communications policy and brand standards
  • Monitoring analytics across the Governor's and the Bank's digital footprint and providing recommendations for improvement
  • Observing all pre-announcement and embargo protocols for market sensitive information
  • Staying current on emerging platforms, formats, and digital content trends to strengthen the Governor's online presence
  • Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing results as needed for work that is similar or related

Relationships

Establishes and maintains good working relationships with members of staff, Bank officials, the media, and all stakeholders.

Education/Experience

  • A degree in Communications, Media, or a related field and two years' experience in social media management, preferably in a corporate or financial services environment
  • Familiarity with monetary policy, financial regulation, or the international financial architecture
  • Knowledge of the Caribbean media landscape

The Candidate

The successful candidate must have:

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and creativity
  • Demonstrated ability to shoot and edit high quality short form video content for social media platforms, including reels and highlight clips
  • Proficiency in video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or equivalent mobile or desktop tools
  • Ability to deliver high quality content under tight timelines
  • Strong understanding of digital storytelling and audience engagement
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and metrics to inform decision-making
  • Proactive attitude, with a passion for innovation and continuous learning in the digital space
  • Strong autonomous and team player abilities
  • Meticulous administrative and organisational abilities

Other Requirements

  • Strong portfolio of previous video work is required
  • Availability to travel internationally with the Governor at short notice

Compensation

Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the Bank's policy.
