Faculty Across Baruch Present Research at Annual Symposium

Baruch hosted its fifth annual Cross-College Faculty Research Symposium on April 23, an event that continues to showcase interdisciplinary collaboration and scholarly innovation across the College.

This year's symposium featured 12 faculty members from Baruch's three schools, presenting research projects that explored or investigated local and global issues. Their work spanned disciplines including business, public affairs, natural sciences, history, and psychology, reflecting the breadth of inquiry across the College.

Three $1,000 research awards were presented, based on audience-choice voting, to the following faculty members:

• Research Impact - Yue Zhang, Department of Accountancy, "Embargoed Disclosure"
• Research Innovation - Wei Lu, Department of Marketing and International Business, "Aligning AI Agents with Economic Preferences in Strategic Environments"
• Research Excellence - Anna D'Souza, Department of Public Affairs, "The Impacts of Forced Displacement on Food Access in Active Conflicts: Evidence from Yemen"

A Faculty Mentoring Network followed the showcase which offered opportunities to meet faculty mentors, colleagues in the faculty cohorts, and potential collaborators.

The annual symposium reflects Baruch's Strategic Plan 2023-28, which prioritizes high-impact, faculty research that extends beyond academia-informing policy, addressing complex challenges, and contributing to the public good.
