City of Pasadena Launches Emergency Assistance Fund to Support Immigrant Families

PASADENA, Calif.- Pasadena City Council and the City of Pasadena have partnered with the California Community Foundation (CCF) to launch the Pasadena Emergency Assistance Fund, a new resource established to support local families impacted by federal immigration enforcement activity. The creation of the fund follows City Council action on July 21, 2025, appropriating $100,000 toward establishing an Immigrant Assistance Fund.

The California Community Foundation brings extensive experience administering similar emergency aid programs throughout the region. CCF will host Pasadena's fund on the online platform Pledge, which it currently uses for its LA Neighbors Support Fund and for fundraising pages for the City of Long Beach Neighbors Supporting Neighbors Fund and the City of Pomona Compassion Fund. The Pasadena donation portal is now live at Pledge.to/PasadenaFund.

The Pasadena Emergency Assistance Fund will provide support for essential needs such as housing, rent, utilities, child or dependent care, and legal services. CCF will distribute funds to trusted local nonprofit organizations, which will deliver assistance directly to Pasadena residents affected by immigration enforcement actions. CCF will provide periodic reports to the City summarizing the number of individuals served and the categories of assistance provided.

The community is encouraged to consider donating to the Pasadena Emergency Assistance Fund. The Pledge website allows donors to make one-time or recurring monthly contributions using credit card, PayPal, Venmo, or other banking methods. Neither CCF nor Pledge will charge administrative fees, ensuring that 100 percent of every donation goes directly to the Pasadena Emergency Assistance Fund. While the platform suggests a voluntary tip to help cover processing costs, donors may opt to decline. Pasadena's initial fundraising goal is set at $250,000, with the option to increase or extend the campaign as needed.
