Today, President Donald J. Trump travels to Grand Island, Nebraska. Under President Trump and Republican leadership, families in the Cornhusker State are keeping more of what they earn, farmers and ranchers are getting direct support, private investment is expanding production, and crime is falling in the state's largest cities.

Historic Tax Relief for Nebraskans

President Trump's Working Families Tax Cuts stopped the largest tax hike in American history and put money back in Nebraskans' pockets.

  • No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Overtime: Qualified tips and overtime pay are now deductible from federal income taxes, benefiting hundreds of thousands of Nebraska service workers, truckers, manufacturers, and hourly employees.
  • No Tax on Social Security: More than 300,000 Nebraska seniors can benefit from the new deduction that eliminates federal income tax on Social Security benefits for the vast majority of recipients.
  • Bigger refunds: Nebraskans' average federal tax refund reached $3,378.
  • Investments in rural health: Nebraska secured nearly $219 million in first-year funding under the Working Families Tax Cuts' Rural Health Transformation Program - the eighth-largest award in the country - to modernize care in rural communities.
  • Protecting Nebraska's economy: The Working Families Tax Cuts protected 37,000 Nebraska jobs, preserved $7 billion in state GDP, and safeguarded $3 billion in wages for Nebraskans.

Standing with Nebraska Farmers and Ranchers

President Trump's America First agenda is delivering real dollars and new market access to the producers who feed the country.

  • Year-round E15: In April 2025, President Trump's EPA granted the emergency waiver that cleared summer sales of E15 nationwide, answering the direct request of Nebraska and other Midwestern states and expanding the market for Nebraska ethanol and corn.
  • Direct aid: USDA has delivered $622 million to 36,000 Nebraska Farmers through the Emergency Commodity Assistance Program for the 2024 crop year. Nebraska farmers have also received more than $632 million in Farmer Bridge Assistance payments - part of the $12 billion national bridge program for trade disruptions and higher input costs left by the Biden Administration - with nearly 33,000 Nebraska producers applying. They remain eligible for the $16 billion Supplemental Disaster Relief Program covering 2023 and 2024 crop losses.
  • Ranchers first: In September 2026, President Trump signed two Executive Orders backing American ranchers. One directs action to help producers protect herds from wolves and other predators, and advances country-of-origin labeling transparency. The second orders tougher enforcement of the Packers and Stockyards Act and expands ranchers' ability to get cattle to market without compromising food safety.

New Investment Across Nebraska

President Trump's economic agenda is delivering major private-sector investment and expansion.

  • Eaton is investing more than $30 million in a new Bellevue facility to expand U.S. production of medium-voltage switchgear for data centers, creating more than 200 new jobs.
  • Becton Dickinson is investing $110 million to expand prefillable syringe production at its Columbus plant, creating about 120 new jobs, on top of its earlier $35 million investment at the same plant.

Safer Communities for Nebraskans

President Trump's commitment to law and order is producing real drops in crime in Nebraska's largest cities.

  • In Omaha, crime is down from last year, including an 11% drop in total crime, a 12% drop in property crime, a 33% drop in criminal homicide, a 21% drop in rape, a 31% drop in robbery, and a 29% drop in auto theft.
  • In Lincoln, violent crime is down 15%, robbery is down 31%, aggravated assault is down 16%, murder is down 75%, and property crime is down 9%.

President Trump is in Nebraska to deliver a simple message: promises made, promises kept. Lower taxes, stronger farms and ranches, new manufacturing, and safer streets are the record because Republicans delivered - and Nebraskans cannot afford to hand that progress back.
