Jul 30, 2026

U.S. Rep. and Ranking Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Rick Larsen (Wash.-2), his district director Cameron Caldwell, and district scheduler/staff assistant Jessica Zuleta visited Seattle Center (ZSE) on May 27. This was the Congressman's first time visiting the facility.

Local FacRep Josh Curtis, ZSE Legislative Rep. Alex Navarro, ZSE Facility Technical Rep. Michael Sellman, Region X Alternate Regional Vice President Nicole Wysong (ENM), and Washington State Legislative Coordinator Shanna Cole (ZSE) led the tour.

The tour kicked off with introductions and a presentation describing Seattle Center's airspace, operations and growth, staffing, and slat wall upgrades, including their significance in the implementation of BNATCS.

The group then visited the control room. At a closed sector, controller Matt Coughlin showed Rep. Larsen the airspace over his district and described changes to automation over the years. This was a productive visit that underscored Rep. Larsen's strong relationship with our Union.
