Frankfurt-Global law firm Dentons has appointed well-known capital markets lawyer Oliver Dreher as Frankfurt Managing Partner effective January 1, 2026. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading and managing the Frankfurt office, which employs approximately 60 lawyers.
Oliver Dreher has more than 25 years' experience advising clients on corporate, bank and sovereign bonds, promissory note loans, registered bonds, derivatives, and structured finance. He also regularly advises on complex Schuldschein and bond restructurings. He joined Dentons in 2019 and has since headed the Debt Capital Markets team in Germany. His clients include the Finance Agency of the Federal Republic of Germany, leading German and international banks such as Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, Société Générale and BNP Paribas, numerous state banks and global companies such as Daimler Truck. He is ranked as a leading capital markets lawyer in Germany by Chambers Europe and IFLR1000.
He takes over the Managing Partner role from Daniel Fritz, a partner in the Restructuring practice, who has decided to step out of the leadership role in order to focus on client work, given the increased market demand for restructuring and insolvency advice.
Dr. Rebekka Hye-Knudsen, Co-Managing Partner Germany, commented: "With his strategic view and ability to successfully lead complex teams with different requirements, Oliver will make a valuable contribution to our management committee. He will also support our strategy to further expand Dentons' market position in Frankfurt and throughout Germany."
Dr. Matthias Santelmann, Co-Managing Partner Germany, added: "We are looking forward to working with Oliver Dreher as part of our management team. He is rooted in Frankfurt and has in-depth knowledge of the market, which he will use profitably for the further development of our office in the financial metropolis. We would like to thank Daniel Fritz for his contribution as Office Managing Partner."
