Wagner Congratulates Boeing for Winning the Navy Next Generation Fighter Jet Following her Years of Advocacy

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO) released the following statement after the Navy chose Boeing to build the F/A-XX, the sixth generation strike fighter:

"It's official, St. Louis will be the home of both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force next generation fighter jets that will strengthen American air dominance worldwide. For years, I have been proud to champion the effort in Congress supporting our local defense industrial base for the F/A-18 and F-15 programs. Winning the F/A-XX next generation naval fighter program, on top of the already awarded F-47 fighter, is a monumental win for Missouri and the families in our community that build these jets to keep our nation safe. Boeing not only supports thousands of local jobs here at home with these programs, but they also advance the overwhelming power of our military that makes our nation the best and strongest in the world.

"I have been an ongoing advocate for Missouri-made Boeing defense products during my time in Congress, leading the support for programs like these in our National Defense Authorization Act and Appropriations legislation.
