Holiday Hours

Offices to Close for the Holidays

Augusta, Georgia Government

AUGUSTA, GA (December 19, 2025 ) - In observance of the Christmas holiday, all Augusta, Georgia government offices will be closed on December 24, 25, and 26, 2025.

Additionally, all Augusta, Georgia government offices will be closed on New Year's Day, Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Below is a list of operating hours for key services:

Augusta Municipal Building.
Closed December 24-26, 2025.
Closed January 1, 2026.
The building will reopen during normal business hours on the next business day following each holiday closure.

Augusta 311
Closed December 25.
Closed January 1, 2026.
Operations will resume on the next business day following each holiday closure.

Augusta Transit
Close at 6:00 P.M on December 24, 2025-no service on December 25, December 26, or January 1, 2026.
Services will resume normal hours of operation on the next scheduled service day.

Augusta Utilities
All Augusta Utilities offices, including Customer Service locations, will be closed December 24-26, 2025, and January 1, 2026.
For emergencies not related to billing, call 706-842-3060.

Augusta Landfill
The Augusta Landfill will be closed on December 25, 2025, and January 1, 2026.

Following each holiday, the landfill will operate as follows:
• Friday, December 26 and Friday, January 2, 2026: regular operating hours
• Saturday, December 27 and Saturday, January 3, 2026: open from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Trash Collection
There will be no trash collection services on December 25, 2025, or January 1, 2026.
Collection services will be delayed by one day following each holiday.

Parks and Recreation
All community centers, facilities, and offices will be closed on December 24-27, 2025, and on January 1, 2026. Newman Tennis Center will close at 5:00 PM on Saturday, December 27, and on Wednesday, December 31. The Augusta Aquatic Center will close at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, December 23, and Wednesday, December 31. All public parks, as well as the cemeteries, will be open from dawn to dusk; park maintenance will operate on a weekend schedule.
