Last month, as temperatures began hitting triple-digits, the HOPE team connected with a family seeking relief at a city Cooling Center. They had been living in their car in the sweltering heat. The team quickly moved them into the city's Sue Espacio shelter, providing a safe environment along with essentials like diapers and a gas card while the mom prepared for a new job and housing.
"During the dangerous summer months, our team is especially concerned with keeping people hydrated, safe and connected to resources. We are grateful for partners like Hundred Mile Brewing who keep our HOPE vans stocked with bottled water each year," Burch said.
