On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Mexico as they celebrate the 215th anniversary of Mexico's independence.
The United States and Mexico share a vital relationship shaped by geography, history, and the enduring ties between our peoples. Our partnership advances the world's largest trading relationship, supports prosperity on both sides of the border, and strengthens regional security. Working together as sovereign partners, we are addressing shared challenges, including combating transnational crime, securing our border, and halting illegal immigration.
We join the Mexican people in marking this occasion and reaffirm our commitment to building an even stronger partnership in the years ahead.
