The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam emphasising to draw inspiration from esteemed Atal Ji's life, on his birth anniversary today -

"यद्यदाचरति श्रेष्ठस्तत्तदेवेतरो जनः।

स यत्प्रमाणं कुरुते लोकस्तदनुवर्तते॥"

The Subhashitam conveys that whatever a great person does ordinary people follow in the same way. In other words, the behaviour of a leader or an exemplary person serves as a guide for society and followers.

Shri Modi stated that Atal Ji's conduct, dignity, ideological steadfastness, and resolve to place the nation's interest above all serve as an ideal standard for Indian politics. "Through his life, he demonstrated that excellence is established not by position, but by conduct, and it is that which guides society", Shri Modi added.

The Prime Minister wrote on X;

"आदरणीय अटल जी की जन्म-जयंती हम सबके लिए उनके जीवन से प्रेरणा लेने का एक विशेष अवसर है। उनका आचरण, शालीनता, वैचारिक दृढ़ता और राष्ट्रहित को सर्वोपरि रखने का संकल्प भारतीय राजनीति के लिए एक आदर्श मानक है। उन्होंने अपने जीवन से यह सिद्ध किया कि श्रेष्ठता पद से नहीं, आचरण से स्थापित होती है और वही समाज को दिशा देती है।

इस अवसर पर मैं इस सुभाषित को साझा कर रहा हूं, जो उनके जीवन के एक पहलू को परिभाषित करता है:
