HURON, Ohio - Bowling Green State University Firelands will commemorate six decades of learning, impact and growth during its Founders Day celebration from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Falcon Square in the North Building on campus.
Since its approval as the regional campus of Bowling Green State University in 1965, BGSU Firelands has empowered students across the region with accessible education through relevant programs that support Ohio's workforce needs. Founders Day 2025 will celebrate the people, partnerships and progress that have defined the college's history while looking ahead to its future.
The 60th celebration of BGSU Firelands will bring together students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members for a day of celebration featuring live music, campus tours, class photos, games, giveaways and refreshments. Special presentations by three celebrated retired faculty members - Ronald Ruble, Ph.D., Joel Rudinger, Ph.D., and Larry Smith, Ph.D. - will also highlight the story and legacy of BGSU Firelands.
"This celebration is a wonderful time to connect, reflect and look ahead to the next 60 years of BGSU Firelands," BGSU Firelands Dean Allia Carter said. "We'll bring together generations of Falcons who have made our college such a special place to learn, grow and lead."
As part of the celebration, attendees can also explore an exhibit of historic photographs, yearbooks and campus artifacts.
