WASHINGTON - Continuing her work to root out waste, fraud, and abuse in Washington, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) is going after bureaucrats who are gaming the system by holding multiple taxpayer-funded government jobs at once without doing the work.
To shut down this blatant abuse, Ernst is introducing the Dismantling Double Dippers Act that requires a regular cross-check of federal employment rolls to catch bureaucrats who are cashing two paychecks.
"While hardworking Americans are pulling double shifts just to make ends meet, bureaucrats are pulling a fast one - double-dipping from the federal payroll without lifting a finger," said Ernst. "I'm exposing these double-dealing bureaucrats, so the American people are not stuck footing the bill."
She is also calling for a full review of the federal workforce, including a breakdown of who is working for every agency, where they're located, and whether any individuals are collecting paychecks from multiple government agencies.
