Avista planned power outage in Elk River

Spokane, Wash. May 1, 2026: Approximately 297 electric customers will experience a planned power outage on Wednesday, May 6 in Elk River. The planned outage will start at 7:00 a.m. and end at 10:00 a.m. All affected customers will be notified in advance.

The westbound lane on Highway 8 near mile marker 43 will be closed during the duration of the outage. Traffic control will be in place.

During this time, crews will be performing risk tree mitigation near Avista's power lines in the area. Avista is committed to safeguarding the integrity of its infrastructure while enhancing the safety and reliability of the electric system.
