ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY - Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04) led a bipartisan group of colleagues in urging Congress to direct federal funding to several Nassau County priorities, including health care access, support for local police and fire departments, clean water infrastructure, safer roads, and nonprofit security grants for houses of worship. Rep. Gillen's colleagues joined her in a series of letters to the House Appropriations Committee ahead of its work on Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) funding.
"Since taking office, I've been focused on delivering for families and businesses across Nassau County, including through federal investments," said Rep. Gillen. "As Long Islanders, we send more of our hard-earned tax dollars to Washington than we get back. That's why I'm fighting to get more of those dollars back and ensure Congress is investing in our communities."
