Lane Closure Advisory for Paving Activities on US 280
WHAT: Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) contractors will implement nighttime lane closures on US 280/SR 30 from the I-16 eastbound ramp to Genesis Drive, as well as on US 280 from Genesis Drive to Olive Branch Road to allow for asphalt paving. Officers will be on site to assist, and drivers should expect delays.

These activities are part of the larger US 280, I-16 Frontage, and Old Cuyler Road Interchange Improvements that will provide more efficient access to new developments in Bryan County. The improvement projects include roadway widening, construction of roundabouts, a new frontage road along I-16 (now Genesis Drive), and a new location interchange on I-16. These efforts are aimed at supporting current and future transportation needs in the area.

WHEN/WHERE:

Nighttime Closures:

Sunday, October 26 through Friday, October 31 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Nighttime lane closures and pacing will take place at the following location:
  • US 280 from I-16 eastbound ramp to Genesis Drive.

Saturday, November 1 through Sunday, November 9 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Nighttime lane closures and pacing will take place at the following location:
  • US 280 from Genesis Drive to Olive Branch Road.

Advisory: Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
