On April 13, Consul General Zhao Xiuzhen attended a forum hosted by the Consulate General with officials from the Philippine Department of Agriculture (DA) Region XI and representatives from durian and fishery enterprise exporting to China. More than 20 participants joined the event, including DA-11 Regional Executive Director Macario Gonzaga, RTD Marie Ann Constantino, BFAR-XI Director Relly Garcia, BPI Davao, OIC Center Chief, Flor De Hasmin C. Bayo, as well as the representatives of Maylong Enterprises.
Consul General Zhao noted that the Davao Region is rich in agricultural and fishery resources. Following the successful export of durian to China, the export of eels has opened a new chapter for the region to expand cooperation with China. She expressed hope that both sides would strengthen communication and exchanges to elevate bilateral economic and trade cooperation to a new height.
The Philippine side briefed on the development of agriculture and fisheries in the Davao Region. They stated readiness to work together to further deepen China-Philippines agricultural cooperation.
