Mount Clemens, Mich. - Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that a Macomb County judge resentenced 30-year-old Jasmine Rix for her no contest plea in March to three counts of Distributing - Child Sexually Abusive Material.
On Monday, August 24, 2026, Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Michael E. Servitto resentenced Rix to five years of probation, with the first year to be served in the Macomb County Jail. The court provided legally permissible justification for the current sentence, including that she has no prior record, was determined to have a low risk of recidivism, and she will continue to receive mental health counseling. During the 5-year term of probation, Rix will receive close court supervision.
The resentencing followed the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office's successful motion to correct the original sentence, which had required Rix to serve only 60 days in jail along with the 5 years of probation.
"We are pleased that the Court imposed a substantially longer sentence," Prosecutor Lucido said. "Distributing Child Sexually Abusive Material is an egregious crime, and the sentence must reflect the seriousness of the offense."
Rix is required to register as a Tier II Sex Offender, which mandates 25 years of registration. She is also subject to registration under Wyatt's Law, which is a database of individuals who are convicted of criminal offenses related to children. She must also forfeit all devices that were used to commit the offenses.
The Macomb County Prosecutor's Office represents the People. We are committed to achieving justice and following the laws of the State of Michigan. All individuals who are accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
