AUC Chairperson received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia

The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, this evening received H.E. Gedion Timothewos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

They discussed the ongoing AU institutional reforms, with particular emphasis on sustainable financing of the Union.
The Chairperson expressed his gratitude to H.E. William Ruto for his leadership as AU Reform Champion and briefed the Minister on progress achieved to date under his stewardship.

The Chairperson & Minister Timothewos underscored the strategic importance of securing predictable & sustainable financing as a cornerstone for an independent, effective, & sovereign African Union.
They further reaffirmed their shared commitment to working closely with all Member States to advance this critical agenda.
