Preservation as a Financing Tool
With the support of the Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation, the Washington Trust is proud to present two free upcoming educational webinars!
Thursday, August 27, from 12:00-1:00 pm, for "Historic Preservation Easements 101." Our Preservation Programs Director Moira Nadal will lead a presentation about historic preservation easements, including what buildings are good candidates for easement protections, what types of benefits easements can offer, financial considerations, and how to begin the process of having an easement recorded for your property. We'll also discuss how a preservation easement can be part of an overall financing strategy for a historic renovation project.
Thursday, September 24, from 12:00-1:00 pm, for "Climate Pledge Arena: A Federal Historic Tax Credit Case Study," with guest Climate Pledge Arena Senior Vice President of Finance Eric Jaeger. We'll look at federal Historic Tax Credits, which can offer substantial tax breaks to developers and property owners looking to rehabilitate historic buildings, using as our case study Washington's biggest federal Historic Tax Credit project to date: Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.
Both of these webinars are free to attend, but registration is required!
