New Report Examines Best Practices in Mobile Health Operations

A new report from Essential Hospitals Institute explores how essential hospitals use mobile health programs to expand access to care, strengthen community engagement, and address barriers to necessary health services.

The Mobile Health Landscape: Practices and Perspectives examines common program models and services, operational challenges, and promising practices for developing, strengthening, and sustaining mobile health programs. It was produced with the support of the Leon Lowenstein Foundation.

Leaders from several America's Essential Hospitals members shared lessons from the day-to-day realities of launching, operating, and expanding mobile health programs. Their experiences offer practical guidance on securing funding, gaining leadership support, using technology and data collection, building relationships with community partners, and addressing safety and regulatory requirements.

Thank you to interviewees from the following hospitals:

  • Boston Medical Center
  • East Alabama Health
  • Grady Health System
  • Hennepin Healthcare
  • Memorial Healthcare System
  • NYC Health + Hospitals
  • Prisma Health
  • University Medical Center of El Paso

This report follows Delivering Care Beyond Hospital Walls: Best Practices in Mobile Health, which highlighted the work of five association member hospitals that received grants to support their mobile health work.
