The Florida Department of Education has designated Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) as an Academically High-Performing school district for 2024-25, one of only 13 school districts out of the state's 67 to receive this recognition after meeting various rigorous criteria.
Districts selected had to meet high standards in the following key areas:
1. School and District Grades from 2024-25
2. Class Size Compliance from 2023-24
3. Financial Audit Reviews from 2023-24
This recognition highlights the District's sustained commitment to academic excellence. For six consecutive years, M-DCPS has earned an A-rating and ranked eighth statewide based on total points. Notably, 64% of M-DCPS schools received an "A" grade this year, reflecting the dedication of educators and students across the county.
"This designation is a testament to the dedication of every single person who makes up our M-DCPS family," said Superintendent Dr. Jose L. Dotres. "It's a collective victory that highlights the hard work of our students and the unwavering commitment of our teachers and staff."
Beyond academics, the district's excellence extends to its financial management. M-DCPS was recently honored with the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International's Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Award (COE) for the 41st consecutive year, recognizing its commitment to financial transparency in its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
This dual recognition solidifies M-DCPS's position as a leader in education and is proof of why Miami-Dade County Public Schools is the best choice.
