Nationwide zoning and planning scam targeting local businesses and residents

12/31/25 - Authorities are reporting that scammers are masquerading as local and county planning and zoning departments to extract illegitimate land use application renewal payments from local businesses and residents. Please do not respond to any request for payment unless it comes from City staff with an email address ending in "leandertx.gov " (Ex: [email protected])

Payments to the City for development applications may only be made in person, by mail or through our permitting site, the Development Hub (www.leandertx.gov/hubgo). The City never requests that payments be paid by email, wire transfer, gift cards, or by any other means.
