The Sparks City Attorney's Office has secured multiple misdemeanor theft convictions, resulting in the items being recovered or businesses being awarded restitution. The City Attorney's Office remains focused on the "Back Our Businesses" initiative.
Below are a few cases from March in which criminal prosecutors from the Sparks City Attorney's Office specifically sought firm consequences for intolerable actions. A Sparks Municipal Court judge imposed the following sentences after being found guilty:
On March 3, 2026, Sahmaj Washington was sentenced to serve 135 days in the Washoe County jail, suspended on the condition that he complete 45 days of active jail time, stay away from the Outlets at Legends and Sephora, obey all laws, and pay any restitution if requested by the victims. Originating from an incident that occurred on March 2, 2026.
On March 5, 2026, Luke Scott was sentenced to 30 days in the Washoe County jail, suspended on the condition, obey all laws, and stay away from Scheels and the Outlets at Legends. Originating from an incident that occurred on February 13, 2026.
On March 9, 2026, Angelia Cordero was sentenced to serve 60 days in the Washoe County jail, suspended on the condition she pay restitution in the amount of $506.88, stay away from Boot Barn, and obey all laws. Originating from an incident that occurred on January 25th, 2026.
On March 12, 2026, Jonathan Norris was sentenced to serve 60 days in the Washoe County jail, suspended on the condition that he stay away from Target, and obey all laws. Originating from an incident that occurred on January 28th, 2026.
On March 17, 2026, Johnny McArthur was sentenced to 90 days in the Washoe County jail, suspended on the condition he stay away from United Circle in Sparks, NV, pay restitution in the amount of $84.17, and obey all laws. Originating from an incident that occurred on July 25, 2026.
On March 17, 2026, Adriana Virgen was sentenced to 90 days in the Washoe County jail, suspended on the condition he stay away from the Atrium Apartments and Western Village, pay restitution in the amount of $700, and obey all laws. Originating from an incident that occurred on February 25, 2026.
On March 18, 2026, Isaac Gatlin was sentenced to 30 days in the Washoe County Jail, suspended on the condition that he stay away from Scheels, and obey all laws. Originating from an incident that occurred on December 24, 2026.
On March 26, 2026, Kyle Cashner was sentenced to 60 days in the Washoe County Jail, suspended on the condition that he stay away from Scheels and Outlets at Legends and obey all laws. Originating from an incident that occurred on May 15th, 2026.
