Anderson County construction projects updates:
US 175 Widening Project
Traffic is currently being switched to the new pavement on the westbound lane, while the contractor works on the eastbound lane. Crews are scheduled to continue removing the old bridge while continuing to build the new eastbound bridge. Crews will also finalize ditches and slopes. The project will expand the roadway to four lanes with new bridges across the Neches River.
FM 1990; FM 861; FM 19 - Safety Improvement Project
The contractor is scheduled to continue work on FM 1990, widening and clearing the area near the structures. The project consists of improving drainage, driveways, culverts, and upgrading the guard rail for safety.

Cherokee County
Cherokee County construction projects updates:
US 175 Widening Project
The following county road intersections will be closed within the project limits:
The contractor is scheduled to continue work on the eastbound side through Cuney. Right of way prep work will also continue on the westbound side. The contractor will also continue drainage work, bridge work, and clearing utilities. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work limits. The speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph throughout the project limits. The project consists of expansion to a four-lane roadway with new bridges, grading, asphalt, drainage structures, pavement markings, and signage. (This project is in Cherokee County but is managed by the Athens Area Office.)
FM 855 Improvements
The contractor is scheduled to begin ROW operations. Motorists should drive with caution within the construction zone. Lane closures are anticipated. This project consists of improving drainage, cross culverts, driveways, mailbox turnouts, signage, and metal beam guard rail.
SH 204
This week, the contractor will continue striping operations, signage, mailbox installation, and culvert cleanout. Crews will also continue storm water prevention plan operations. Motorists should drive with caution in the work zone. Lane closures are anticipated. This project consists of adding a super-two highway section.
US 79
The contractor is scheduled to continue work throughout the project limits. Daily lane closures could occur. This project consists of rehabilitation of the existing road, including pavement repair, resurfacing, metal beam guard fence, and pavement markings.
US 69 and FM 2493 Grade Separated Interchange Realignment
The contractor is scheduled to continue frontage road construction adjacent to US 69. Crews will also continue work on the inlets for FM 2493. The project consists of a grade separated interchange and realignment of FM 2493 West of US 69.

Gregg County
Longview crews are scheduled to begin edge repair operations on FM 1252. Work will be I the east and westbound lanes from Fritz Swanson Rd. to SH 135. Motorists should expect lane closures with traffic controlled by flaggers. Also, crews are tentatively scheduled to begin bridge channel maintenance work on FM 2087 at Bull High Slough. Motorists should expect lane closures when work is in progress. Crews are also tentatively scheduled to perform erosion control at the US 259 N overpass at SL 281. Motorists should expect a right lane closure in the southbound lane, from SL 281 exit ramp to the end of the overpass.
Gregg County construction projects updates:
FM 2275
The project consists of widening from two lanes to four lanes. This will include a new bridge structure, pavement, metal beam guard fence, and striping. Crews will be clearing the right of way. Crews may also place temporary asphalt for traffic control, depending on progress. The contractor is also expected to install storm culverts.
Young St. - City of Longview
This project consists of constructing sidewalks and accessible ramps for people with disabilities on both sides of Mobberly Ave. This week, the contractor will be clearing right of way and pouring concrete for the sidewalk on the south side of the street.
I-20 Resurfacing
This project consists of milling asphalt off the surface and placing new hot mix asphalt from the Sabine River bridge to the Harrison County line. Work will be done in both the east and westbound lanes. The contractor is tentatively scheduled to install permanent striping and replace overhead signs.
US 259
This project consists of removing some crossovers for safety and adding left turn lanes to the remaining crossovers. The contractor is scheduled to remove culverts and modify the existing drainage structure.

Henderson County
Athens crews will be performing overlay on FM 753, between SH 19 and FM 59. Motorists should expect lane closures with flaggers and a pilot vehicle controlling traffic. Another crew will be performing base repair and erosion control at various locations throughout the county.
Henderson County construction projects updates:
BUS 19 Sidewalks
The contractor is placing concrete for the sidewalks and driveways on the west side of the road. Motorists should expect lane closures while work is in progress. The project includes sidewalk and pedestrian access improvements.
SH 19 Super 2 Project
The contractor has begun cement treating for roadway widening in the southbound lane. Crews are also expected to place flex base material in the southbound lane. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph throughout the project limits. This project includes adding passing lanes in both directions at multiple locations. It also includes grading, drainage structures, pavement markings, and signage.
BUS 31 Rehabilitation
Crews are scheduled to continue project cleanup. Motorists should expect lane closures. The project includes removal of current surface, base repairs, resurfacing, striping, and signage. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the nighttime work zone and expect pavement striping operations during the day.

Rusk County
Henderson crews will be repairing edges on FM 1798 and US 259 North. Contractors will also be removing trees and mowing the right of way at various locations. Expect lane closures with flaggers and a pilot car controlling traffic.
Rusk County construction projects updates:
US 84 - FM 225 East to CR 3155
This project includes reconstruction of US 84, extended structures, a hot mix asphalt surface, new signage, and striping. This week, the contractor is scheduled to perform hot mix operations, striping, and edge work. Motorists should expect alternating lane closures.
SH 315
This project consists of widening pavement edges and installing a separation between opposing traffic lanes to improve safety. Work will also include adding a passing lane in each direction. This week, the contractor is scheduled to lay asphalt. Motorists should expect alternating lane closures. Crews will also perform striping and guard fence installation.
SH 43
This project consists of milling approximately six inches off the surface and replacing it with new hot mix. The project also includes clearing the right of way, replacing driveway pipes, and striping. This week, the contractor is scheduled to place final striping and performing edge work along the pavement. Expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic.

Smith County
Tyler Maintenance crews are scheduled to perform mill and inlay on SH 64 between LP 49 and the Van Zandt County line. Motorists should expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic. When complete, this crew will move to SH 155 from US 271 to I-20. A second crew will perform edge repairs on the Jim Hogg service road on the north side of I-20. Motorists should expect closures with flaggers controlling traffic. Crews will also perform herbicide operations at various locations throughout the county.
Smith County construction projects updates:
US 69 Rehab Existing Road and Restricted Crossing U-Turn (R-Cut)
The contractor is scheduled to work on punch list items. This work will be done during daytime hours. No lane closures are expected. This project consists of rehabilitating existing roadway and installing a restricted crossing U-turn (R-Cut) at the FM 2813 intersection.
FM 2493 Widen Non-Freeway
The contractor has closed access to CR 172 (Goodson Spur) from FM 2493 for the next four to six weeks as crews work on edge drop-off repairs. Motorists should use CR 177 for the detour. This project consists of widening the existing non-freeway roadway.
Pedestrian Sidewalks & Curb Ramps
The project consists of upgrading pedestrian safety measures at various intersections.
Smith County Bridge Rehabilitation
This week, the contractor is scheduled to complete sealing bridge joints, cleanup, and striping at the SH 19 bridge at the Union Pacific Railroad. This project consists of cleaning and sealing the existing bridge joints, asphalt work, resurfacing the bridge deck, installing new metal beam guard fencing, steel and concrete repairs.
I-20 Bridge Maintenance
The U-turn from eastbound to westbound I-20 frontage road between Jim Hogg Rd. and US 69 will be closed to traffic. This project is bridge maintenance consisting of cleaning and painting the existing steel bridge structures.
FM 16 Widening and Realignment
The project consists of grading, asphalt base, asphalt surface overlay paving, storm drain, bridge, and culvert structures, signing, pavement markings, and signals. A traffic shift is currently in place through town. Traffic will be in two lanes during this phase of construction. Embankment installation is ongoing. Hot mix operations are scheduled to begin in November. Bridge work is ongoing. (This project is in Smith County but is managed by the Mineola Area Office.)
SH 31 Resurfacing
The contractor is scheduled to continue edge work and reseeding operations. Final striping will soon follow. Motorists should expect delays and use caution when traveling through area. Van Zandt County
Canton crews will be overlaying on FM 1504 from SH 64 to US 80. A second crew will be addressing ditch maintenance issues and performing bridge maintenance. Motorists should expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic.
Van Zandt County construction projects updates:
FM 17, FM 47, and FM 859 Bridge Replacement
This project includes construction of new bridges and approaches, grading, base and surface work, and installation of metal beam guard fencing. Motorists should expect reduced speed limits and narrowed shoulders on both the I-20 main lanes and frontage roads. On FM 17, crews are scheduled to work on driveway at dealership. The bridge is open to traffic. Crews will continue signage installation and striping. The FM 47 bridge is open to traffic. Crews are scheduled to perform striping, signage installation, and driveway installation. On FM 859, crews are scheduled to perform striping and signage installation. The bridge is open to traffic.
FM 1255 Rehabilitate Existing Roadway
This project is for the rehabilitation of the existing roadway consisting of roadway widening, grading, rework base material, cement treatment, flex base, resurfacing intersections & driveways, extending cross structures, signs, and pavement markings. Work will be completed under live traffic conditions. Right of way prep and tree trimming are ongoing. Roadway rehabilitation operations and cross structure installation are ongoing. This work also consists of milling the existing roadway. Lane closures and speed zone reductions are expected. Motorists should expect delays.
I-20 WB Exit Ramp at SH 19
This project consists of ramp improvements. Crews have begun work on drainage structures and frontage road alignment. Final closeout activities will follow.
E Tyler St. at Mill Creek Bridge
This project includes bridge replacement, new approaches, grading, and base repairs. The contractor is nearing completion and is working on closeout items. E. Tyler Street is closed to through traffic.
FM 1651 Rehabilitate Existing Roadway
The contractor is scheduled prepare the roadway for sealcoat operations from SH 198 to Tundra. The contractor is also scheduled to begin roadway widening and cement treatment between Tundra and SH 19. Work includes widening the road, repairing the base, adding signs, and painting new stripes. Crews will complete groundwork in one-mile segments. Drivers should expect lane closures and slower speed limits in the area. Motorists should expect delays.
