LA JUNTA, Colo. - Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site is excited to announce our program schedule for 2026! There will be something for everyone and a wide variety of programming and topics. Programs will mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, the 150th anniversary of Colorado Statehood, and the 180th Anniversary of the US-Mexican War.
Programs will include the Stories from the Borderlands series and several day-long programs featuring living history. These programs are in addition to our regular programming Thursday through Monday at the replica fort. You can find the full program calendar on our website.
Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site operating hours vary by season. For more information about upcoming programs, visit the park website or call the park at 719-383-5010. Visitors are encouraged to utilize the National Park Service App (available in IOS and Android app stores) to extend their visit. As always, visitors should be prepared for the weather. Water, dressing in layers, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. There is a one quarter mile walk from the parking lot to the fort. Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site is located on Colorado Highway 194, eight miles east of La Junta or 15 miles west of Las Animas.
