The myEquifax™ mobile app is enabling consumers in the United States and across the pond to take control of their financial well-being. Powered by the Equifax advanced cloud-native platform and EFX.AI capabilities, the free mobile apps are designed to empower consumers to plan for important financial goals and make more informed financial decisions. The apps provide transparent access to individual credit data, helping consumers navigate complex motor finance redress schemes and reach personalized credit milestones with confidence.
With the UK Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) motor finance consumer redress scheme now in effect, millions of UK consumers are potentially eligible to receive compensation for historic car finance agreements. Around 12 million car finance agreements (including vans, motorbikes and campervans) may be eligible, with estimated payouts averaging £830.
Many consumers face the hurdle of tracking down missing or old paperwork. To bridge this gap, Equifax UK recently launched a new, free car finance checker tool within the UK myEquifax app, enabling users to:
View a comprehensive list of past motor finance agreements (including vans and motorbikes).
Use the "Share Agreement" function to instantly extract reference numbers and dates into emails for lenders.
Access their free Equifax Basic credit score to monitor their overall financial health.
The myEquifax mobile app is available for download in the UK through the Apple Store and Google Play.
In the U.S., Equifax leveraged its advanced cloud-native platform and patented EFX.AI capabilities to deliver Optimal Path™, its interactive score planner, directly to U.S. consumers through the myEquifax mobile app free of charge. Optimal Path integrates with a consumer's current Equifax credit profile and using EFX.AI, provides specific tasks that they can execute within the next 30 days to help reach their target VantageScore® 3.0 credit score goal. The customized 30-day action plans evolve as individuals achieve their particular objectives, enabling consumers to meet their unique financial goals faster. The U.S. myEquifax mobile app is available for download in the Apple App Store and on Google Play.
Equifax also redesigned the hard copy of its U.S. consumer credit report to mimic the visual experience that consumers with an Equifax product have when viewing their digital credit report via their myEquifax™ account or when using the myEquifax™ mobile app. Redesigned in direct response to consumer feedback, the report gives consumers a comprehensive look at their current and past credit activity, replacing lengthy pages of text with color-coded sections and easy-to-read graphics. The report also includes a "key factors that affected your credit" section to provide more context on the type of credit activity that may be helping and/or hurting a person's respective credit score.
U.S. consumers can review their Equifax credit report online free of charge via myEquifax or request their credit report through AnnualCreditReport.com. Credit reports can be requested by phone at (877) 322-8228 or by mail at the address below as well.
