WASHINGTON -U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) marched with pro-life advocates at the Louisiana Life March South in Baton Rouge. At a rally afterwards, he thanked those present for their efforts and mentioned his work to stop the spread of dangerous chemical abortion drugs.
"Because of the people marching today, Louisiana now protects unborn life," said Dr. Cassidy. "Together, we will continue supporting mothers and their babies and protect them from chemical abortion drugs."
As Chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, Cassidy recently led a hearing on protecting women and unborn children from dangerous chemical abortion drugs. Cassidy insisted that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration reestablish rules that require doctors to see mothers in person to verify they're not being forced to have an abortion against their will. He also called for a safety review to be conducted on mifepristone by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Additionally, Cassidy received an A+ rating from the Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America's 2025 National Pro-Life Scorecard.
Cassidy was thanked for championing the lives of the unborn and their mothers by Mr. Benjamin Clapper, Executive Director of Louisiana Right to Life.
"We are grateful that Senator Cassidy is marching for life with us," said Mr. Clapper. "We appreciate his leadership in the Senate, especially through holding the recent hearing on the dangers of abortion pills being sold online and shipped through the mail."
