A convicted felon, out on bond from a 2023 arrest, is in custody once again after he ran from TITANS Unit detectives on Preserve Boulevard Wednesday night with marijuana, cocaine and a stolen handgun. Brandon Jnobaptiste, 27, had been arrested three years ago by TITANS detectives, for which he was scheduled to appear in court today on multiple, felony gun and drug indictments.
Detectives last night observed a Jeep SUV making traffic infractions and during an attempted stop, Jnobaptiste fled on foot. The backpack he had at the time of his arrest contained 2.25 pounds of marijuana and 26.5 grams of cocaine. A stolen handgun was also located outside the driver's side door. It was reported stolen in January from Franklin.
During an interview with detectives Wednesday, Jnobaptiste admitted to recently purchasing the handgun in East Nashville. He was convicted in 2020 of attempted aggravated robbery in Davidson County and a felony drug offense in Rutherford County.
Jnobaptiste was charged with theft of a firearm, felony possession of marijuana and cocaine, felony weapon possession, being a felon in possession of a weapon, misdemeanor evading arrest, and drug paraphernalia. He remains jailed today on $172,500 bond.
