Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will visit Reykjavik on 16-17 October and attend the Arctic Circle Assembly.
Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen will speak at the high-level opening of the Arctic Circle Assembly.
"The Arctic region is shaped by geopolitical shifts, climate change and economic opportunities. Finland's Arctic policy is built on stability, sustainability and international cooperation," says Minister Valtonen.
During the event, Minister Valtonen will meet, among others, Iceland's Minister for Foreign Affairs Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, Greenland's Minister of Foreign Affairs Vivian Motzfeldt and Canada's Minister of Northern and Arctic Affairs Rebecca Chartrand.
Around two thousand participants from around the world are expected to attend the Arctic Circle Assembly. Now the largest international gathering on the Arctic, the event was founded in 2013 by Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, Iceland's former long-time President.
