Jakarta, 14 November 2025 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has officially launched myBCA service for smartwatch devices. This latest innovation reflects BCA's commitment to delivering digital services that stay relevant with the growing Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem.
The introduction of myBCA on Smartwatch was previously highlighted during a talk show session at Festival Ekonomi Keuangan Digital Indonesia (FEKDI) 2025 in Jakarta. Executive Vice President on Transaction Banking Product Development BCA Jan Hendra said that this new feature enables customers to access various banking services directly from their smartwatch, such as:
"With this new feature, we hope that BCA customers can enjoy simpler and quicker transactions. For example, a customer who is going for a morning jog and getting thirsty, only to realize they left their wallet or smartphone behind, no longer needs to return home or to the parking area to take cash or smartphone. With just a smartwatch, customers can make payments using QRIS at the nearest shop and continue their day seamlessly," Jan Hendra said.
mBCA on Smartwatch, which exists in the midst of IoT development, is reshaping everyday convenience. This solution is not only designed to support customer transactions, but also aligns with modern lifestyle habits.
In order to use myBCA on Smartwatch, customers must first pair their smartphone with a WatchOS or Wear OS. An active BCA ID registered on the myBCA mobile app is required, and each BCA ID can be connected to only one smartphone.
Once connected, customers can immediately perform transactions via their smartwatch. Users can also unbind their device in emergency situations, for example when their smartwatch is lost. Device unbinding can be done via the myBCA mobile app or through Halo BCA for BCA ID blocking.
"All the data exchanged between the smartphone and smartwatch is encrypted and transmitted directly over a secure Bluetooth connection, without passing through any public network. If a user blocks their BCA ID in an emergency, that ID will automatically be unusable for login or any type of transaction, both on the smartwatch or any other device. We hope that myBCA on Smartwatch becomes the foundation for the IoT banking ecosystem in the future. BCA ensures every innovation must not only be functional, but also built on strong security and infrastructure," SVP Customer Touch Point Solution APP BCA Lidya Candra explained.
The number of myBCA users has nearly doubled year-on-year. As of September 2025, transaction volume through BCA's mobile and internet banking services grew 19% year-on-year. At the same time, QRIS transactions at BCA surged 103% over the past year. This rapid growth reflects the strong public enthusiasm for practical, cashless payment solutions offered by BCA.
