DETROIT - Sept. 17, 2026 - Frontier Airlines ( Nasdaq: ULCC ) announced its latest growth at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) today, with nonstop service to New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA) beginning later this fall. The new service, which will offer daily flights between Detroit and New York during the peak holiday travel period, marks Frontier's latest growth at DTW as it expands to offer routes formerly operated by Spirit Airlines. With the addition of this new service to LGA, Frontier will serve 15 destinations nonstop from DTW, including 11 that were offered by Spirit before it ended its operations earlier this year.
Frontier is also increasing its frequency of service to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Tampa International Airport (TPA), Orlando International Airport (MCO), and Miami International Airport (MIA). With its growth in operations, the airline is projected to offer 41% more total available seats for sale from DTW in March 2027 compared with March 2026.
To celebrate, America's Low Fare Airline is offering fares starting at $69.*
"Frontier's continuing growth at DTW means more affordable flight options to more destinations, which is a win for cost-conscious consumers looking for their new value airline of choice," said Josh Flyr, vice president of network and operations design, Frontier Airlines. "With this new service to New York joining the growing list of top leisure destinations offered nonstop from Detroit - including Orlando, Miami, Las Vegas, Cancún, and more - we are excited to show travelers that flying can be both low cost and high value."
