April 22, 2026
On Thursday, the global electrophysiology community will descend upon McCormick Place in Chicago for Heart Rhythm 2026 (April 23-26).
If you've been following the pre-conference buzz, you know this isn't just another annual meeting. With a record-breaking number of scientific abstracts submitted - the most in the Society's history - attendees will unveil an influx of data that could impact patient care for years to come.
At FINN Partners, we are proud to support several clients attending this year. Here are the three trends we are watching, and how they impact the way we tell our clients' stories of heart health:
The PFA "Second Wave"
We've moved past the initial honeymoon phase with Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA). This year, the spotlight shifts to long-term durability and procedural optimization. We will be watching several key studies to see if the "safety first" promise of PFA translates into the long-term efficacy and durability required to make it the undisputed gold standard.
The Data Revolution: Beyond the Device
While the latest devices inside the EP lab often steal the headlines, a quieter but equally critical shift is happening in how cardiologists manage patients between clinic visits. This year, the conversation around digital health is moving from "how do we collect data" to "how do we make sense of it?"
At #HRS2026, we expect to see a focus on how data integration can catch clinically actionable arrhythmias before they lead to complications. Clinicians are facing a clinical data deluge. We are particularly interested in how companies like #client iRhythm are navigating this space. By leveraging AI to distill data from millions of heartbeats into clinically actionable information, they help move the industry from reactive to proactive monitoring and care.
Sports Electrophysiology & The "Athlete's Heart"
The Global Summit 2026 will focus heavily on sports and exercise medicine. As more patients refuse to let an arrhythmia sideline them, the pressure is on the industry to provide solutions that keep them active. We will be looking for new consensus on when to "clear" an athlete and how to manage the unique electrical remodeling of the high-performance heart.
Pro-Tip for the Week:
If you have not been in Chicago in April, the best advice we can offer is to wear layers. One minute you're enjoying the lakefront in the sun, the next you're reaching for a coat as the wind kicks up off the water.
Are you at #HRS2026? We would love to hear how your team is planning to cut through the noise and stand out at this year's record-breaking science.
