Royal Thai Consulate-General Joins Christmas Celebration with the Thai Community in New York and Promotes Overseas Election

On December 21, 2025, Ms. Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York,together with Ms. Thammajit Thitimontre, Consul, attended a Christmas celebration jointly organized by the Thai Cultural Center of New York and the Thai Community Mahapawn Alliance Church of New York. The annual event featured performances by Thai and Thai-American youth who are students of the Thai Cultural Center and members of the Thai Community Mahapawn Alliance Church of New York. The Thai Cultural Center of New York has been providing Thai language and cultural education to Thai and Thai-American youth for more than 39 years.

On this occasion, following her opening remarks at both venues, the Consul General took the opportunity to publicize and encourage Thai nationals residing in New York and other states under the Consulate's jurisdiction who wish to exercise their voting rights to register for the Overseas Election. The registration period runs from December 20, 2025, to January 5, 2026 (Thailand time).

The Royal Thai Consulate-General has continuously produced and disseminated informational materials explaining the procedures and online channels for overseas voter registration, as well as key information related to the Overseas Election, through its Facebook page and official website. Thai nationals residing in all 10 states*under the Consulate's jurisdiction are encouraged to closely follow updates and announcements regarding the Overseas Election.

In addition, the Royal Thai Consulate-General facilitated on-site services by accepting applications for national ID cards for those whose cards were lost or expired, as well as providing in-person assistance for Overseas Election registration at the Consulate-General.

*The 10 states under the jurisdiction of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in New York are Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
