Saint Paul's Citywide Cleanup Volunteer Events Return in April and May

Join neighbors across Saint Paul in protecting natural spaces and building a cleaner, healthier city through community cleanup events.

SAINT PAUL, MN - The City of Saint Paul is calling on residents, community groups, and volunteers to take part in its reimagined Citywide Cleanup efforts, an initiative designed to keep neighborhoods, parks, public boulevards, and waterways clean all year round.

Throughout spring and summer, almost two dozen city or community-led litter cleanup events are scheduled to take place across Saint Paul parks and neighborhoods, giving residents opportunities to join organized efforts or people can host their own clean up event. Saint Paul Public Works can provide free cleanup event supplies for volunteers such as bags and gloves, as well as lend helpful litter grabbing tools.

Starting in 2025, the City of Saint Paul shifted from the traditional one-day spring litter cleanup event to a format that allows participants to organize and join cleanups year-round at a time and location that works best for them. This new approach encourages more people to get involved and make a lasting impact throughout the year.

"By partnering with Public Works, we can work together to offer a more flexible format, making it easier than ever for residents to care for the places they love all year round," said Parks and Recreation Director Andy Rodriguez. "Whether it's a neighborhood park, trail, or sidewalk anywhere in the city, every effort helps keep Saint Paul beautiful and healthy."

The Citywide Cleanup initiative not only enhances Saint Paul's parks and neighborhoods but also protects local waterways and wildlife by reducing litter and pollution. Volunteers of all ages and experience levels are welcome to participate.

To get involved, participants may visit the Citywide Cleanup webpage to browse almost two dozen upcoming cleanup events or set up their own cleanup events for later this summer.
