Southern University to host Black History Month events throughout February

Southern University and A&M College will host a variety of free, public events and programs throughout the month of February in recognition of Black History Month. This year's theme, "Rooted: The Power of Our Past, The Strength of Our Future," highlights history, culture and community engagement.

Black History Month programming begins Monday, Feb. 2, and includes documentary screenings, book discussions, art exhibitions and other events designed to inform, inspire and celebrate the contributions of Black Americans.
