Move-in weekend: that magical stretch when all your friends are back on campus, but the homework hasn't started piling up yet. Or, if you're a freshman, a chance to explore the campus and make new friends. Why not make the most of this brief window of freedom with some fun on and around campus?
We've compiled a list of activities for the next few days to get you refreshed and ready for a great fall semester. Many of the events below are part of the Student Leadership & Impact Center's annual Weeks of Welcome (WOW), a monthlong slate of programs and events just for BU students. Check out a movie night on BU Beach, live karaoke, bingo, and more. Welcome back, BU!
Here for orientation, or just moving in early? Stop by the BU Beach for a free movie night on Thursday. Enjoy classic movie snacks while watching Disney's The Incredibles on the big screen
Thursday, August 27, from 8 to 11 pm, BU Beach, 270 Bay State Rd. RSVP here.
Kick off the fall sports season when BU field hockey takes on Merrimack College on Friday at New Balance Field, led by first-year head coach Sarah Shute (SHA'08, Wheelock'17). Shute starred for the BU field hockey team and was on the coaching staff for the Terriers' first four Patriot League titles. If you can't make it in person, get together with a few friends over snacks and listen for free with BU All-Access. Friday, August 28, 4 pm, New Balance Field, 278 Babcock St. RSVP here.
Whether you're the type of person who knows all the lyrics to every song, or can't even remember the words to "Sweet Caroline," karaoke is perfect for anyone who can carry a tune. Come see a live band performance at BU Beach on Friday, featuring mocktails. You'll have the chance to sing your heart out, take the stage yourself-or simply enjoy others taking the stage.
Friday, August 28, from 7 to 9 pm, BU Beach, 270 Bay State Rd. RSVP here.
Who doesn't like prizes and boba? Stop by the George Sherman Union Ballroom on Saturday for an exciting night of bingo, where you'll have a chance to win amazing prizes. Free boba will also be served-don't miss out!

The Boston University women's soccer team returns to Nickerson Field on Sunday, where they'll face off against the University of San Francisco. If you can't make it in person, you can stream for free on ESPN or listen along on BU All-Access.
The game will be preceded by the annual Terrier Tailgate, featuring free food (hot dogs, vegan dogs, popcorn), drinks (lemonade and water), music, and giveaways. BU students are admitted free to both events
The Terrier Tailgate is Sunday, August 30, at noon, and the game starts at 1 pm. Both are held at Nickerson Field, 285 Babcock St.
