Due to winter weather impacts, multiple park areas and facilities managed by the George Washington Memorial Parkway will remain closed Tuesday, January 27, 2026 to ensure visitor safety and allow crews to address hazardous conditions, including snow and ice. The following sites and areas are planned to remain closed through clean-up:

Great Falls Park; Clara Barton National Historic Site; Parkway Headquarters; Turkey Run Park and South Turkey Run Area; Fort Marcy; Theodore Roosevelt Island and parking lot; Arlington Ridge, including the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial and the Netherlands Carillon; Arlington House, The Robert E. Lee Memorial and associated facilities; Columbia Island; Gravelly Point; Roaches Run; Dangerfield Island; Jones Point Park parking lot and restroom; Belle Haven Marina, Belle Haven Park, and Dyke Marsh; Collingwood picnic areas; Riverside Park; Fort Hunt; and all pullouts, overlooks, and parking lots along the parkways.

Emergency personnel prioritized emergency access, main roadways, and high-use corridors, including the George Washington Memorial Parkway, Spout Run Parkway, Clara Barton Parkway, Memorial Avenue and Circle, Arlington Memorial Bridge, and secondary roads and residential streets within the park's jurisdiction. Crews will continue snow and ice removal, coordinating closely with partner agencies and emergency personnel.

Areas will reopen as soon as conditions are safe. For the latest updates, visitors should check www.nps.gov/gwmp and GWMP social media channels. Next update expected: Tuesday, January 27.
