Following efforts to assist the 11 Thai-flagged vessels and vessels chartered by Thai operators which were stranded in the Strait of Hormuz since its closure on 28 February 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform at this time that 10 of the said vessels have safely departed. At present, only one such vessel, namely the Hatthaya Naree, remains in the area of the Strait of Hormuz awaiting cargo loading and is expected to depart the area as soon as possible thereafter.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes this positive development, which was made possible through the integrated efforts among the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Royal Thai Navy, the Ministry of Commerce, the Office of the National Security Council, and the relevant agencies from both the public and private sectors, in coordinating and monitoring the situation, as well as facilitating assistance for affected vessels on an ongoing basis.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide assistance to the remaining vessel until it is able to safely depart the area.
