Terri Vogel

Terri Vogel, the registrar at Northwest Missouri State University, was honored this week by the Missouri Association for Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO) with its Georgeanne Porter Award for Professional Service.

The award, which was presented during the organization's 89th Annual Conference in Lake of the Ozarks, recognizes a MACRAO member who provides exemplary leadership service in the areas of admissions, registrar or enrollment management.

Dr. Allison Hoffmann, Northwest's associate provost for enrollment management and student success, commended Vogel as a leader who embraces opportunities, brings out the best in others, and strengthens both Northwest and the communities she serves.

"Terri's ability to lead with both strategy and empathy has kept her department organized, effective and student-centered throughout these many transitions," Hoffmann said. "She fosters open communication, encourages collaboration and models adaptability - qualities that inspire trust and confidence across the institution. What distinguishes her leadership is not only her capacity to manage complexity but her commitment to uplifting people in the process. She ensures her staff feel valued, her colleagues feel supported and students remain at the center of every decision."

Beyond her work at Northwest, Vogel has contributed to MACRAO through her active participation and leadership. She has been a member of the organization since 2008 and served as the organization's president in 2020-2021. Previously, she served as chairman of the Records and Registration Committee and co-chair of the Committee for New Membership. She also has presented and moderated numerous sessions at MACRAO's annual conference.

Vogel has served as Northwest's registrar since 2010 and began her employment at the University in 1998. She has a bachelor's degree in industrial psychology and a Master of Business Administration, both from Northwest.

MACRAO is a regional member of the American Association of College Registrars and Admission Officers. For more information, visit https://www.moacrao.org/.
