PHILADELPHIA - The Kickback Impact, the community-driven organization founded by music executive, humanitarian and cultural visionary Mont Brown, in partnership with the City of Philadelphia and its Ring It On! initiative for Americas' 250th anniversary, is proud to announce the launch of Sing That Jawn, a groundbreaking citywide high school vocal competition designed to celebrate Philadelphia's youth, amplify their voices, and connect them directly to the heart of the music industry.

More than a singing contest, Sing That Jawn is a movement, one that invests in arts education, builds pathways to professional opportunities, and honors the legendary musical legacy of America's birthplace, Philadelphia. Through school-based auditions, citywide showcases, mentorship from industry leaders, and a professionally produced grand finale, the program will spotlight the next generation of Philadelphia talent while empowering them with resources, exposure, and tangible career opportunities.

Sing That Jawn Overview

Putting the voices of Philadelphia's future at the heart of America's 250th birthday, Sing That Jawn is a citywide celebration of young artistry and ambition. Open to high school students across Philadelphia, the competition will guide participants through multiple rounds, from school auditions and digital submissions to live semi-finals and a grand finale performance. Along the way, students will receive professional development opportunities, which may include coaching from professional vocalists, mentorship from industry executives, and opportunities for real-world engagement with major music institutions.

The competition will culminate with a professionally produced finale where one winner will be crowned and awarded life-changing prizes, including scholarships, recording sessions, mentorship experiences, live performance opportunities, and more. The winning student's school will also receive direct investment into arts programming, ensuring the competition's impact extends beyond the stage.

Competition Rounds

• November - January 2025: School Recruitment & Internal Auditions
• January 30, 2026: Schools Submit Videos, Bios, and Forms
• February 6, 2026: Top 30 Announced
• February 21, 2026: The First Live Competition

The journey hits the stage when the Top 30 contestants perform live before a panel of celebrity judges and a public audience. This high-energy event will narrow the field to the Top 10 Youth Ambassadors, who will continue their artistic journey with exclusive opportunities such as media interviews, development workshops, and professional exposure leading into the final round.

• May 2, 2026: The Second Live Competition Grand Finale

The journey comes to a close when the Top 10 contestants perform live before a panel of celebrity judges and a public audience. This will be where the winner of the competition will be announced
